Bis die Zweifel verschwinden, auf dass es sie niemals gab.

Szenen passieren Augenlider.
Wie Bilder eines Films auf einer weißen Wand.
Langer, dunkler, tauber Schlaf, der sich mir entzieht,
indes das Leid der Welt vor meiner Tür hausieren geht.
Damals stets geschworen, in jeden Vers vertraut,
und selbst geglaubt, dass in den Worten Hoffnung liegen wird.
Jedoch lasst ihr mich sehen, begreifen und verstehen,
nicht mehr weiter eure Wege zu gehen.
Zeit schwindet dahin.
Kein Werden ohne Vergehen.
Und nichts bleibt bestehen.
Zorn auf den vergangenen Tag.
Auf die Antwort, die ihr mir versagt.
Auf den Irrtum, den ich schon zu lang in mir trag'.
Plötzlich bricht alles zusammen.
Wirkt verschüttet, fast wie begraben.
Taumle durch die Dunkelheit, nach Halt suchend.
Im tiefen Stollen, Meter für Meter in den Stein.
Bald wird die Luft dünner. Das letzte Licht erlischt.
Steh' ich dort, wo Auswege klein erscheinen.
Begraben in den Trümmern der eigenen Überzeugung.

Ist das alles, wofür es sich zu leben lohnt?
Das ist alles nichts.
Zähe Worte, stetiger Verfall.
Euren Worten nur gefolgt aus Verzweiflung,
oder war es Angst?
Wandle lieber auf dornigen Pfaden,
als auf eurem dünnen Eis zu stehen.
Das Hier erstrahlt viel heller,
mit keinem Dort im Nichts.

And my faith rose with them, out into the night.
A new freedom fills the space once occupied by obedience.
Those dark days are over and now it is time to face home again,

Disregard is much harder to take than hostility.
The bottle has become my new tin god.
The content is my faith and I sipped the last drop.
They say you can't find the answers at the bottom of a glass,
but maybe it makes me forget the questions I've asked.
I've come to a point where nothing can save me.
Where nothing can restore what's broken and vanished.
I know what I am, let down and rejected.
Unable to count the scars I've collected.
My face is worn out, my feet are blistered.
An empty body, can't speak but whisper.
Threaten me with hell, I'll tell you my story.
We won't rise up to heaven, in caskets rot our bodies.
Sometimes it's better to let go what is gone.
Try to chase a ghost or accept: there is none.
